It was no secret that the Covid-19 pandemic had changed the way we live our lives. With strict social distancing measures in place, it seemed like people were no longer able to celebrate special occasions and holidays with their friends and families. This posed a major challenge for Heineken, as they felt that their target audience of young and progressive individuals were having difficulty finding ways to celebrate during these unprecedented times.
In order to keep up with their customer’s changing needs, Heineken launched the Star Celebration Campaign – an integrated marketing plan meant to drive sales during high season, drive home occasions and parties, and target the young and progressive image of the brand. The campaign was focused on driving people to “Experience Star Celebration by Heineken” through creative video content, entertainment options, eCommerce food delivery services, trade channels, as well as a user-generated content campaign.
The idea behind the campaign was simple: let people enjoy a chill beer at home in a safe way from the comfort of their own homes or backyard. To help promote this idea Heineken created several videos featuring people enjoying life at home while having a beer together with friends or family members – all while adhering to safety guidelines put forth by local governments such as social distancing rules and wearing masks when out in public spaces. These videos also included tips for hosting socially distant gatherings such as virtual happy hours or games nights with friends – allowing people to still celebrate special occasions even when apart from each other physically.
By providing customers with innovative ideas on how they can still safely enjoy life while following the rules set forth by local governments, Heineken was able to successfully reach its desired audience - resulting in a 20% increase in sales during Covid-19 times! Not only did this prove that even during difficult times companies can find creative solutions to ensure their customers are satisfied – it also showed how important proper marketing is in ensuring customer loyalty – even when faced with unexpected challenges like those brought about by Covid-19
